Household Decision Meeting
When the resources were being given to build the temple, the Bible tells us that the gifts were made by households (I Chronicles 29:6). Life decisions, including financial ones, are made in households, whether a single person or a family of any size. When Joshua gave the final charge to Israel to walk with God, he said…

Household Decision Meeting Checklist
- Choose a time during this week (April 28 – May 3) to have your meeting. Singles, consider meeting with other friends or a family from Grace.
- Prepare children for this event. Let them see how important this decision is to your family. Encourage them to draw a picture beforehand that relates to their family serving the Lord in a particular way. Open your Household Decision Meeting with a song that they are able to sing as well. Allow them to share their thoughts at the appropriate time.
- Select a passage from the Devotional Guide to read.
- Allow everyone to share how God has impacted them through this time (sermon series, community groups, Sunday School, prayer meetings, fellowship, devotional guide, quiet times).
- Fill in the pledge card at the back of this brochure as to your decision for a cash offering and a three-year pledge. You do not have to share the amount of your gift with others.
- Close your meeting with a hymn and a prayer (In Christ Alone is provided below).
- Celebrate! Rejoice in God’s goodness. Have dinner with friends, go for a nature walk, or plan ahead of time to go and serve someone in need.
Don’t forget to fill out your pledge card, place it in the envelope and bring it with you to church on Commitment Sunday, May 4.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone — who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied —
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine —
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
